Grey India Appoints Harsh Kapadia as Chief Creative Officer

Grey has announced the appointment of Harsh Kapadia as the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Grey India.

Kapadia, a Mumbai-born creative leader, brings over two decades of international experience, having previously served as CCO at MRM New York since 2021. In his new role, Kapadia will report to Grey’s Global Chief Creative Officer, Gabriel Schmitt, and will be based in India.

This strategic move is aimed at strengthening Grey India’s creative capabilities, with Kapadia’s extensive knowledge of both local and international markets.

His previous tenures at VML and JWT, combined with his recent leadership role at McCann Worldgroup, solidify his position as a key driver of creative growth within the region.

Sarah Trombetta, Chief Executive Officer of Grey APAC, emphasized the importance of Kapadia’s appointment, stating, “Bringing together the proven leadership of Anusha Shetty with Harsh’s creative vision, spanning from AI-driven technology solutions to traditional advertising, sets Grey India up for an exciting future.”

Kapadia will work closely with Anusha Shetty, CEO of Grey India, who brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and advertising. Together, they will focus on driving growth across Grey’s studios in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore. Their combined expertise aims to deliver creative solutions that not only resonate with local audiences but also achieve global impact.

Kapadia’s appointment is also a homecoming of sorts, as he returns to the WPP network after gaining valuable international exposure in New York, London, Melbourne, and India. His extensive portfolio includes award-winning campaigns for major brands like Google, Reckitt, Motorola, Lego, New Balance, and Diageo.

“I’m thrilled to continue my global journey while returning to WPP and lead Grey India at such a transformative moment,” Kapadia said. “Partnering with Anusha and the exceptional team at Grey, I’m eager to harness the philosophy of Cultural MacGyverism—blending rich local insights with cutting-edge marketing to create work that drives real business impact.”

As part of this transition, Sarah Trombetta also acknowledged the contributions of Sandipan Bhattacharyya, who will be leaving Grey India after nearly a decade. “We thank Sandipan for his work during his tenure and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Trombetta added.
