Indian Premier League is a big business event and the popularity of IPL among viewers around the world has made it into a very big stage of advertising and marketing. Brands know this fact and they spend a big portion of their advertising money during IPL season each year. The idea of the importance of IPL can be taken by knowing the names such as Facebook, Star India, Set Max who fought for the rights of telecasting this cricket tournament. We have compiled a list of 10 brand campaigns that took the maximum benefit of IPL for creating awareness about their products and services. Have a look:

1. Nokia Sabki Jeet Pakki


This IPL campaign came in the year 2007 and helped Kolkata Knight Riders to gain popularity. Featuring Saurav Ganguly and Shah Rukh Khan was a great decision and Nokia made sure that they not only target KKR fans but every IPL viewer by using the concept of sabki jeet pakki for distributing exciting prizes.

2. Durex D20


Durex knows how to spread the awareness of using condoms in the funniest yet interactive ways. The D20 campaign had multiple small videos in which Durex pointed towards their products in a unique way.

Another condom brand that can’t be ignored in the advertising world. Manforce came up with the idea of Indian Partner League in which they showed images related to the phrases used in matches and combined the same in advertising their products.

4. Gionee selfie


During the times when selfies were gaining popularity in India, Gionee introduced a campaign encouraging Indians to click selfies and win special gifts from the company.

Using Dubsmash for making social media users participate in Kingfisher’s campaign was a great idea. This campaign gave marketers the idea of how unique things can make anything viral on social media.

6. Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan


Reliance Jio has changed Indian telecom industry very quickly and some of the credit for this achievement goes to the way they advertise. Jio made sure that their logos can be seen in maximum matches and even launched dhan dhana dhan campaign.

7. Pepsi crash the IPL


Crash the IPL concept was also a good way to engage the audience in advertising. Pepsi told viewers to make their own version of Pepsi ad and get featured in the official ad of the soft drink brand during IPL season.

8. Amazon Chonkpur Cheetahs


Well, this was one of the best ad IPL has ever seen. Amazon advertised in such a way that it connected Indian audience amazingly. The e-commerce giant took the concept of sapno ki dukan to next level.
