Dr. Prakash Baba Amte is a social worker from Maharashtra. In 2008 Amte and his wife, Mandakini Amte, were awarded the Magsaysay Award for ‘Community Leadership’ for their philanthropic work. In November 2019 he was awarded ICMR Lifetime Achievement Award by Bill Gates.

Dr. Prakash Baba Amte – The Real Hero was the biopic made on his life’s work starring Nana Patekar in 2014. Prakash Baba Amte did not accept any money from the filmmakers for showing his life story.

Mohammad Azharuddin

Milkha Singh
