If these elections will ever be remembered, they will for sure be remembered for the one hell of a marketing and campaigning by the leading and opposition parties but also the great initiatives taken by brands to spread awareness about the importance of voting and choosing the leader.
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 which have kick-started are to be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19, 2019, and it not just merely just a right but a responsibility of every individual who is 18 or above to cast their vote and choose the future of the country.

So what really is a voter id? A document issued by the Government of India which permits the citizens to cast a vote in elections at regional, state and national levels.
But what happens to in case of missing or stolen voter id? Well, in that case, one can cast a vote by submitting alternative documents issued by the union or the state government, public limited companies, passbooks issued by banks or post office, etc.
Other than Electors Photo Identity Card here’s the list of 11 specified photo identity documents which you can show as an alternative to a Voter’s Id.
1. Passport
Issued by the Government of India, a passport is a travel document necessary in case of travel to another country which also serves the purpose of authentic identification proof of any individual.
2. Driving License
The official document issued by the Government of India that permits any individual to drive a motor vehicle in the county is also a legitimate identity proof.
3. Service Identity cards with photographs issued to employees by Central/state govt/PSUs/Public Limited Companies
In case of the individual being an employee to any central/state/PSUs/Public Limited Companies service card can serve the purpose of being an authentic identification proof.
4. Passbooks with photographs issued by Bank/Post office
In case one has a bank account in any government bank or post office, passbook issued by the bank can be used as an alternative for Voters if 2019.
5. PAN Card
Permanent Account Number or PAN is one of the most important documents which includes a photo ID of the individual. Issued for the purpose of income tax payments and other financial works the id can be used to vote on the day of polling.
6. Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR
Smart cards issued by The National Population Register (NPR) which a database of the identities of all Indian residents can be used to vote.
7. MNREGA Job Card
People employed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act have a card with a photo id which can be used as an alternative to voter’s id these elections.
8. Health Insurance Smart Cards issued under the scheme of Ministry
Rashtriya Swasthiya Bima Yojana or RSBY launched by the Ministry of and Employment, Government of India issues a biometric-enabled smart card to every beneficiary family which can be used as an alternative to Voters id.
9. Pension document with photo id
Any citizen receiving a pension from the government and has a photograph attached to the pension document can be used.
10. Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
If you have any of the Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs. Then also you can use it as an alternative.
11. Aadhar Card
An Aadhaar is a unique verifiable 12-digit identification number and photo ID issued by UIDAI to the resident of India for free of cost. It also has a biometric and demographic data of an individual which works as an authentic identification identity proof of any individual.
But what one needs to keep in mind is that the identification proofs would work in the case of the name appearing on the electoral rolls.
