Christmas season is upon us and we all can feel the excitement around it. The season is all about love, family, and food, and we can never get enough of it.

Many brands tap into this love for the season we have and come up with some interesting ad campaigns. Here are some of the greatest ad campaigns by western brands that have left a lasting impact on the viewers.

Christmas Bells – Hershey’s Kisses (1989)

Hershey’s kisses rolled out one of the most interesting Christmas ad campaigns in the late 80s. The Hershey’s kisses were ringing like the Christmas bells sounding like carols.

Mistletoe by Yellow Pages (1992)

Yellow pages welcomed Christmas in the early 90s with the most adorable ad ever. The video shows a young boy using the yellow pages book to kiss a girl under the mistletoe.

Holidays are coming – Coca-Cola (1995)

‘Holidays Are Coming’ was one of the first ads by Coca-Cola that become a worldwide jingle for Christmas.

This is not just – Marks and Spencer (2006)

The one thing that brings happiness out of all of us is the wide variety of food that comes with the festival. Marks & Spencer’s ad was probably the first food porn of its time. The campaign was all about the spirit of true Christmas.

Phenomenal Christmas – Irn Bru (2007)

This quirky ad by Irn Bru is nothing anyone has ever seen. A snowman is seen fascinated with the Irn Bru a young boy is enjoying and takes him on a ride across the city in the hopes of getting a sip from the can. But when the boy refuses to share it, the snowman drops him off on the way and takes that sip after all.

The Long Wait – John Lewis (2011)

The official John Lewis Christmas Advert for 2011 brought out the most adorable side of how children feel around the festival.

1914 by Sainsbury’s (2014)

Inspired by real events that took place 100 years earlier, the narrative tells the well-known story of Christmas Day 1914 when around 100,000 combatants laid down arms to socialize and play football on the Western Front.

Special Because – Boots (2014)

Boots celebrated the hard work and dedication that the health workers display on daily basis. No matter what festival may come, they always put their duty first.

English for Beginners – Allegro (2016)

This ad campaign by Allegro showed an emotional side of the festival and even tapped into the loneliness the elderlies feel around this time. The ad shows the efforts a man takes to meet his granddaughter for the first time and spend the Christmas with his family abroad.
