We have all wanted to leave our current jobs and start our own businesses. While it is not easy to start a business from scratch in your home country, there are many who successfully set up enterprises overseas.
This does come with a lot of financial back-up. However, there are some countries that are calling for entrepreneurs to set up businesses in their remote areas and with very attractive schemes and programs.
1. Tulsa, Oklahoma
This small city on the Arkansas River is hiring remote workers and is paying as much as $10,000 or around ₹8,00,000. As per Tulsa Remote, to be eligible, one needs to fulfill the following: You can move to Tulsa within the next 12 months. You have full-time remote employment or are self-employed outside of Oklahoma. You are 18+ years old. You are eligible to work in the United States
2. Albinen, Switzerland
While the city is located in the most beautiful country in the world, Albinen in Switzerland is facing human extinction with only 240 people left in the town. For this, the government has initiated programs to attract more and more people to move there.
It is offering ex-pats under the age of 45 lucrative amounts for the move, 20,000 francs or around ₹20,00,000 per adult and 10,000 francs or around ₹8,00,000 per child, to be exact.
3. Sicily, Italy
Italy has been known for its dollar homes worldwide. Many have even taken up on the offer and moved to the country.
Recently, two towns in Sicily, Sambuca di Sicilia, and Troina are selling homes for as low as €1. In return, you just have to agree to renovate the home within three years and pay a security deposit of around $6,000, or around ₹4,80,000, which will be refunded upon the completion of the renovation.
4. Antikythera, Greece
Antikythera is a Greek island located on the edge of the Aegean Sea, between Crete and Peloponnese. If chosen to be part of the program, people will be given land, a house, and a monthly stipend of about $565, or around ₹45,000, for the first three years.
5. Alaska
Alaska is one of the coldest cities to live in the world. While the US state experiences only two weathers, that is cold and extremely cold, it is still one of the pretiestt ones in the world.
Alaskan program, the Alaska Permanent Fund, allots an equal amount to every resident through an annual dividend. If you live in the state for an entire year, you will be granted about $1,600, or around ₹1,30,000.
6. Ireland
Island in the North Atlantic Ocean, Ireland is full of scenic beauty. While the country has a very active tourism department, it is still doing a lot to grow its economy over all.
Ireland has a scheme called Enterprise Ireland, which awarded €120 million to start-up businesses in 2020. Non-residents can also apply for this scheme.
7. Chile
Chile is a country situated along the western seaboard of South America. A seed accelerator program called Start-up Chile started by Chile Government offers equity-free investment to startups with unique business ideas.
8. Ponga, Spain
In order to compensate for the lack of inhabitants, the small Spanish village of Ponga in Asturias offers couples who move there 3,000 euros plus another 3,000 euros for each newborn. They have only one condition and that is that the couple shall commit to living in the village for five years.
9. Candela, Italy
This southeastern village in Italy has an attractive offer for whoever is willing to move to the countryside. Candela is giving around $950, or ₹75,000, to young people, and $1400, or over ₹1,00,000 to young couples.
10. Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Italy
Santo Stefano Di Sessanio is a Medieval clifftop village in Italy dating back to the time of the Romans. The village has mostly aged citizens inhabiting the area and is eagerly looking for the younger generation to populate the village.
The village is offering entrepreneurs up to $52,022, or over ₹40,00,000 to relocate, including roughly $23,000, or around ₹18,00,000 to start a business there.
