The “most expensive” pair of shoes has been launched in the new luxury capital of the world, UAE. The shoes are made from real diamonds and gold and come with a price tag of 62.4 million dirhams or $17 million or Rs 1.23 billion only.

The Passion Diamond Shoes feature hundreds of diamonds, together with two imposing D-flawless diamonds of 15 carats each and were curated over a period of 9 months.
The pair is curated by Jada Dubai, a UAE based brand in collaboration with Passion Jewellers and was launched at the world’s only 7-star hotel, Burj Al Arab.

Previously, Debbie Wingham high heels were considered the most expensive footwear costing USD 15.1 million (55.4 million dirhams).

“Jada Dubai designs only shoes with diamonds. For the launch of our second collection, we wanted to create a piece that is truly unique in the world using very rare diamonds,” Maria Majari, co-founder and creative director of Jada Dubai, who designed the shoes, was quoted as saying in the report shared by Khaleej Times

Majari said that the show on display at the event would be a prototype and the price is fixed at $17 million. Only one pair of the shoe will be custom made as per the size of the customer who buys it. Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and VIP guests roughly numbering to 50 people have been invited for the launch.

“There will be only one pair of The Passion Diamond Shoes in the world.

“We had to prototype many shoes in Italy in order to find the perfect shape, perfect heel, the perfect color for it. Even inside, the logos of both companies are made out gold, which is very thin so it will be very comfortable for walking,” the co-founder said.
