In the world where digital advertising is growing in leaps and bounds to take over the traditional medium’s share in the adex by 2025, as per many reports, social media has become a paradise for all things moment marketing, brands try to leave no stones unturned to get the attention of their target audience or netizens.

But little did anyone think or imagine that a glitch in Instagram post which turned vertical images into a long-format image post would become an overnight sensation.

A couple days back, when Animal Planet uploaded a giraffe’s picture in an extra-long aspect ratio on the platform, one couldn’t help but pinch the screens of their smartphones to view the full image.

And so, it was that one post which sparked the wildfires of viral sensation on Instagram and as a result, various other prominent brands jumped on the same and made it a viral sensation within days.

In fact, having kickstarted the trend, Animal Planet also released a how-to tutorial on its own handle to help others create their own versions to such an elongated picture which caught the audience’s attention almost instantenously!
