In India, Meta has launched its paid verification service called ‘Meta Verified,’ following the example set by Twitter. This service enables Facebook and Instagram users to acquire a blue tick badge on their accounts.
By paying a fee of Rs 699, both iOS and Android users can access this service. To ensure credibility, Meta plans to connect users’ social media accounts with a government-issued ID proof. Upon successful completion of the verification process, users will be granted the blue tick badge on their profiles.
Meta verified is currently accessible to users in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
