After initiating a global review of its media planning and buying functions, FMCG behemoth Unilever has once again entrusted WPP’s Mindshare to handle its media duties in markets like the US, UK, China, and India.
In addition to this, the GroupM agency has also added the FMCG major’s media business to its roster in Sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa.
That being said, Unilever has now become one of those one-of-a-kind category majors whose media mandate is globally being managed by all major holding companies of leading ad networks.
While WPP has managed to retain the account in several markets, Unilever has mandated Publicis Media with its media responsibilities in Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam as well as Interpublics’s Initiative in Canada.
That being said, the FMCG major has also expanded its partnership with Havas and Omnicom in certain regions and added Dentsu to its roster, further diversifying the global brand’s approach.
