Top 10 India’s Highest Paid Promoter CEOs

India Inc’s bosses get paid hefty and big. If statistics are to be believed this March the aggregate pay packet of the 10 highest-paid executives—including both promoters as well as professional managers has risen by 34%.

Here is the list of India’s Top 10 highest paid promoter CEOs. 

1. Kalanithi Maran

Rs. 87.5 crore

Chariman, SunTV Network 

Kalanithi Maran, Founder and CEO of Sun Group secured the first spot on the list with a remuneration of Rs. 87.5 crore in the year 2017-2018 which was relatively 12.3% more than their previous year with Rs. 77.9 crore. With over 32 channels in regional languages that cover 95 million people Maran is also the highest paid promoter CEO in India. 

2. Pawan Munjal 

Rs. 75.44 crore

Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp

The promoter of the world’s largest producer of two wheelers Hero MotoCorp takes home a whopping amount of Rs. 75.44 crore as his annual salary. 

3. Onkar S Kanwar

Rs.49.58 crore

CMD, Apollo Tyres

The constant on the list is Onkar S Kanwar, CMD, Apollo Tyres who withdraw an annual salary of Rs.45 crores. 

4. Sajjan Jindal 

Rs. 49.58 Crore

CMD, JSW Steel

Sajjan Jindal, CMD, JSW Steel also got hefty hike making him equal to Onkar Kanwar. Also to mention JSW Steel was for the longest time India’s largest steelmaking company.

 5. Ravi Jhunjhunwala 

Rs. 43.33 Crore

Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, HEG

Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, HEG which has one of the largest graphite electrode plants globally and exports the bulk of its production makes Rs.43.33 crores annually. 

6. HM Bangur

Rs. 42.56 Crore

Managing Director, Shree Cement

Shree Cement is amongst the top three cement groups in terms of capacity and its Managing Director, HM Bangur makes about Rs. 42.56 crores annually. 

7. Murali K Divi

Rs. 40.20 Crore

CMD, Divi’s Laboratories

Murali K Divi, CMD, Divi’s Laboratories withdraws a salary of Rs. 40.20 crores from the company who also has the world’s largest active pharmaceutical ingredients plant in the world. 

8. Jaydev Galla

Rs. 38.86 Crore

Vice Chairman & MD, Amara Raja Batteries

The richest candidate in the current Lok Sabha elections and the Vice Chairman & MD, Amara Raja Batteries takes home a hefty amount of Rs.38.86 crores annually. 

9. Arvind Poddar

Rs. 36 Crore

CMD, Balkrishna Industries

Balkrishna Industries is a tyre company who caters to the needs of the agriculture, mining and construction sectors. Arvind Podda, CMD of the company is paid Rs.36 crores annually.

10. PR Venketrama Raja

Rs. 33.93 Crore

CMD, The Ramco Cements

The newest addition to the list is PR Venketrama Raja, CMD, The Ramco Cements who takes home with him Rs. 33.93 crores annually.
