The interesting fact is that a new ranking shows the world’s livable cities are generally, the less global capital, more regional second city. The Economist Intelligence Unit Index considers more than 30 qualitative and quantitative factors spanning five broad categories, weighted as follows: stability (25%), healthcare (20%), culture and environment (25%), education (10%), and infrastructure (20%).

1. Vienna
Vienna once again managed to take the No. 1 spot in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s livability ranking for the consecutive second year.

The city has been able to secure the second place after being ranked the world’s most livable city for seven years in a row, from 2011 until 2017.
3. Sydney

The city has been ranked as the world’s third most livable city and is known to offer the Antipodes’ best quality of life.
4. Osaka
Osaka, a designated city in the Kansai region of Japan. It is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture and the largest component of the Keihanshin Metropolitan Area.
The second-largest metropolitan area in Japan has been ranked fourth in the same survey.
5. Calgary
Calgary is a city in the Canadian province of Alberta. It is Alberta’s largest city and Canada’s third-largest municipality.
This city has been considered as the world’s fifth most livable city.
6. Vancouver
Vancouver is a coastal city in western Canada, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia.
It is considered as the most populous city in the province and also the world’s sixth-best livable city to live in.
7. Tokyo
Tokyo Metropolis is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan. The Great Tokyo Area is ranked as the most populous metropolitan area in the world.
This city is considered to be the world’s seventh-best livable city to live.
8. Toronto
Toronto is the provincial capital of Ontario and the most populous city in Canada.
It shares its ranking with Tokyo and thus, is considered as the eighth-best livable city in the world.
9. Copenhagen

10. Adelaide
Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia and the fifth-most populous city of Australia.
