Tech Mahindra Introduces New HR Policies for LGBTQ+ Employees

IT Giant Tech Mahindra has announced new adoption leave policy for LGBTQ+ employees.

Tech Mahindra has announced that it had added a few initiatives to its Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) policy aimed at supporting employees from the LGBTQ+ community, to help new parents, cancer patients and survivors.
As part of the new policy, same-sex couples will also be able to take 12 weeks paid adoption leave, it said. Bereavement leave of three days will also be granted to same-sex partners, it added.

The company said it would grant more time for employees in the first year of parenthood by allowing more flexibility in its ‘Work from home’ policy.

Company is working towards creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can feel that one is an integral part of the company. Support groups for employees like new parents, cancer patients and survivors, and fitness & lifestyle groups are also being created, according to the company. Besides these, LGBT committees have also been formed across geographies.

According to the company,

“These groups share stories of community members to the larger audience to create cultural assimilation and sensitize people. Tech Mahindra is also in the process of adding a gamification element to the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ training to create a seamless and immersive experience for all employees.”
