Indian e-commerce war is at its peak right now. Amazon and Flipkart are trying to beat each other in terms of sales and for doing so they are using every possible tactic. Indian politician Shashi Tharoor believes that online buyers should prefer Flipkart over Amazon for buying his books.
Tharoor did so after he came to know that Amazon is selling pirated copies of his books. He even tweeted about this and wrote “I have tried to shame @amazonin many times but they are utterly shameless. They have sold pirated copies of my books repeatedly & across the country. Please use @Flipkart to buy “
I have tried to shame @amazonin many times but they are utterly shameless. They have sold pirated copies of my books repeatedly & across the country. Please use @Flipkart to buy #AnEraOfDarkness & #WhyIAmAHindu. Urge @AlephBookCo to begin prosecution @kapish_mehra https://t.co/NL0aCvuvNd

His reactions is valid because the pirated copies of the books hurt authors the most. Writers don’t get their shares on pirated copies & online websites and sellers take the advantage of pirated copies. Tharoor’s tweet can make a imoact on this problem as a large section of Indian users follow him on Twitter and he is seen as a icon for the youth of country.
Twitter users joined Shashi in opposing Amazon for fake products.
Fake seeds, really?
"Amazon" delivers all fake things. Even seeds

Amazon contacted Tharoor after this tweet and promised about taking positive steps soon to which Tharoor replied “I will meet them in the constructive spirit.”
The business of pirated books is running in our country from years and has affected the profits of authors in a big way. If e-commerce can solve this issue then this will be good both for the authors and online selling business.
