Making the products of competitor look inferior is a marketing strategy that brands use from time to time. Brand wars are very interesting as in the end audience gets to decide the final winner. Indian smartphone market has become very competitive after the entry to brands like OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi. Gone are the days when Samsung was the only leader in the Android market as users are happy to experiment with other brands.

OnePlus has recently launched a new flagship phone named OnePlus 6 in India with the tagline “The Speed You Need” and speed is clearly the USP of this phone. Samsung tried to make fun of OnePlus 6 tagline using its official social media accounts. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and A8 Plus focused post attacked OnePlus indirectly by saying “Smartphone experience is more than just speed”.
