Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3: Weak Story Or A Marketing Failure?

| Published on July 30, 2018

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 has released on 27th July and sadly it is not getting the response which everyone expected. There can be several reasons such as poor content, dispensable characters and competition from Hollywood superhit such as Mission Impossible 3, but we think that there is one more reason that led to the failure of this movie and that is- poor marketing.

There were so many positives like Sanju’s success, the popularity of the previous 2 movies in the franchise and an impressive trailer but not paying attention to promotion overtook all the positives. Right from the release of the trailer, there were very few who knew about the release date of the movie which is a big mistake considering how active modern movie makers are in marketing and promotion.

This again tells us the importance of marketing in the entertainment sector. Yes, quality content matters but it becomes the responsibility of every person associated with the movie to look on the promotion aspect. In this digital era, entertainment related pages are a great medium for connecting with the target audience and letting them know about the movie. Also, this method is very cost-friendly if we compare with the traditional ones.

Another reason for the failure of this film is Sanjay Dutt denying to promote the movie. Proper marketing can help the movie to get an initial response and if the content is good the audience automatically shares their opinions with their friends and relatives which creates an urge in the viewers to watch the movie in the theatre.

Even Hollywood knows this fact and doesn’t leaves a chance to promote movies before the release date. Deadpool 2 was a great example of this and it made handsome money from the Indian market.

We hope this mistake will not be repeated in Bollywood again as making a movie involves a lot of hard work and money & no one likes to see the hard work get ignored.
