| Published on April 8, 2019

Netflix, the world’s biggest and most influential on-demand entertainment app is planning to make a big move in India.

Netflix's Strategy Behind Rs. 65/Week Plan In India
Over the period of only 2 years, looks like the company has understood our Indian Audience who loves more in less money, making them introduce a weekly plan of Rs. 65/week for its Indian mobile users.

Confirming the same a Netflix spokesperson said, “We will be testing different options in select countries where members can watch Netflix on their mobile device for a lower price and subscribe in shorter increments of time.”

With their arch-rival Amazon Prime charging Rs 129/month and India’s number 1 OTT: Hotstar charging Rs 199 per month Netflix continue to be the most expensive OTT platform in India despite introducing its Rs. 250/month and Rs. 65/week for mobile-only access.

While Netflix’s actual plans start from Rs 500 per month, and goes up to Rs 800 per month, depending on the access of screens, and quality of videos, last month in order to entice more users into their platform Netflix started a new mobile-only plan which costs Rs 250 per month which was first in Malaysia and based on the positive feedback, was launched in India.

The company in an official statement said,”We are always looking for ways to make Netflix more enjoyable and accessible. We will be testing different options in select countries where members can, for example, watch Netflix on their mobile device for a lower price and subscribe in shorter increments of time. Not everyone will see these options and we may never roll out these specific plans beyond the tests.”

With our excitement is at par with the new, looks like Netflix’s new plan is surely going to leave us hooked on to our screens!
