Year on year Forbes produced a list of richest billionaires in the world. Overall, this year’s list contains 2,208 billionaires from across the globe. Out of these 2208 billionaires, 121 are Indians, which is 19 more than the last year list. Also, Indians make for the 3rd largest group of richest people after those from the US and China. Let us take a look at the top 10 Indians from that list
1. Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani, the man behind the Reliance Industries is worth $40.1 billion making him rank 19th of the global platform. This year his valuation is grown by $16.9 billion as compared to last year and so he jumped from 33rd position to 19 this year.
2. Azim Premji
The chairman of Wipro Limited, Azim Premji climbed up to 58th global rank from 72 last year and also saw a substantial growth in his net worth from $14.9 billion to $18.8 billion this year. Also amongst Indians, he outshined Lakshmi Mittal to get the second spot.
3. Lakshmi Mittal
Though Lakshmi Mittal’s rank dropped from 56 to 62 this year, his net worth rose to $18.5 billion from $ 16.4 billion last year. He is the CEO is Arcelor Mittal, a global steelmaker.
4. Shiv Nadar
The co-founder of India’s leading software company, HCL, Shiv Nadar was at a global rank of 98 with a net worth of $14.6 billion. He ranked number 4 amongst the Indians.
5. Dilip Shanghvi
Sun Pharmaceutical’s co-founder, Dilip Shanghvi ranked 115th on the global platform and ranked 5th in India with a net worth of $12.8 billion
6. Kumar Mangalam Birla
Kumar Mangalam Birla of the Aditya Birla Group became the 6th richest Indian with a global rank of 127 in the Forbes list. His net worth stands at $11.8 billion.
7. Uday Kotak
Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Uday Kotak ranked 143rd on the Forbes list of world’s richest billionaires and scored 7th position in India. His net worth is $ 10.7 billion
8. Radhakishan Damani
By occupying the 151st position in the worldwide list, Radhakishan Damani, the man behind supermart chain D Mart has a net worth of $9.3 billion. He stood at the 12th rank in India last year, whereas this year he climbed to 8th position.
9. Gautam Adani
Gautam Adani, the founder of Adani Group, is on the 9th position in the Forbes list of richest Indians 2018. His net worth is estimated at $9.7 billion and he occupies the 154th position in the Forbes global list of 2018.
10. Cyrus S. Poonawala
Founder of Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd., which is the world’s largest producers of vaccines in the world, Cyrus S. Poonawala is placed on the 10th position with the net worth $9.1 billion among the richest Indians. His global rank on the Forbes list is 170.
