Food delivery startups have made a habit of being in controversies for both good and bad reasons. Talking about the 2 major giants Swiggy and Zomato, both have recieved praised for their marketing strategies but on the other hand are receiving hatred for the customer service and faults of delivery boys.
Recently, a Chennai named Balamurugan Deenadayalan ordered chicken schezwan chopsuey from Chops N Stix restaurant and everything was looking normal till he began eating his food. Halfway into his meal, he noticed that there was a bloody, used bandaid in his food. He felt shocked and disgusted and tried calling the restaurant to inform them about his contaminated food.
The restaurant manager did not pick up the call, so When he tried contacting Swiggy and inform them about what happened. Surprisingly, his chat messages were ignored.
The man was left with no option but to post on their Facebook page. He wrote that this was disgusting and that he wanted to sue both the restaurant and Swiggy.

We know that technically, this wasn’t Swiggy’s fault, but they should do something to solve this problem with restaurants and check their quality before partnering up, just to ensure that hygiene standards are followed.

Swiggy later apologized for the same and also stated that the restaurant has been notified, and Swiggy has suspended its services.
The man also said that he would have to get tested in order to ensure that he is not infected or has not contracted some disease. He is doing fine, as far as health is concerned.
Swiggy really needs to raise its quality standards when it comes to forming partnerships. What are your views on this?
