LG Mobile’s Latest Offering- G8X Dual Screen Gets Sold Out On Amazon Within 3 Days

| Published on December 27, 2019

LG recently has released its new dual-screen handset, LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen in India. The G8X was LG’s attempt to stand out in the already overcrowded flagship segment space by offering a practical dual-screen option for its users. While many experts have been skeptical of this device, but the G8X has found a lot of eager enthusiasts willing to give this a try. The smartphone is priced attractively at Rs 49,999/- only in India.

This handset is turned out to be a sleeper hit among mobile gaming and lifestyle enthusiasts by being sold out on Amazon in barely 3 days since going up for sale! And that too without any marketing or promotion of the product. That’s why we termed it as ‘sleeper hit.’ This kind of traction is seldom seen in the flagship mobile space, which is otherwise highly cut-throat competitive with likes of Chinese giants like Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme and many others.

This huge success proves to a large extent that consumers will look towards a value for money proposition from any brand even if it is without any huge marketing and promotional efforts from their end. And The G8X is one such shining example in today’s market. It also makes one wonder how the product sales would actually have performed with a full-blown marketing and publicity campaign for the G8X.

LG Mobile has traditionally been excellent product makers, on par with the best even but they are always let down by shoddy (or the lack of) marketing online. With most mobile buyers now online, only time will tell whether LG Mobile will step up and leverage their world-class products and press the gas on effective marketing moving ahead.
All in all this handset, the LG G8X has been a class effort and we applaud the product and its attempt to stand out in the competitive Indian mobile market.

LG G8X Specs:

The LG G8x ThinQ comes with a 6.4-inch FHD plus OLED FullVision with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The device is attached to a second screen with a similar resolution and a 2.1-inch display in the front that displays information such as date, time and battery life, and notifications.

The hinged mechanism allows users to use the phone at an angle of 360-degrees. LG says that the phone is ideal to be used as a game controller at a 120-degree angle, a mini-laptop at a 140-degree angle, flat at a 180-degree angle and a stand or tent at a 270-degree angle among other things. It comes with an in-Display fingerprint sensor and it is protected by IP68 dust and water-resistant technology. Like all of LG’s flagship phones, it is MIL-STD 810G compliant.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor that is coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space that can be expanded further. It comes with Android 9.0 Pie.

Online Sale: Currently, the handset is sold online through Amazon
