Know Everything About Ajit Mohan, The New Managing Director & VP, Facebook India

In a recent turn of events, Facebook has announced that it has appointed Ajit Mohan as Managing Director and Vice-President, Facebook India.

Ajit’s Background

A graduate from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Ajit’s last stint was with Hotstar. He was the CEO with the streaming partner. He was the man behind launching and building Hotstar as one of the leading premium video streaming platforms in India. Ajit is a McKinsey alumnus and he worked at the company’s New York office and focused on India’s rapid urbanization.

The Role

Ajit will hold the fort for developing Facebook’s India Strategy and drive the company’s continued investment in India. “India is one of the largest and most strategically important countries for Facebook. As we think about what it will take to achieve our mission of bringing people together and building community, we know that investment in India is critical. Ajit’s depth of experience will help us to continue to have a positive impact in India across communities, organizations, businesses and with policymakers” said David Fischer, Vice-President of Business and Marketing Partnerships, Facebook Inc.

This role of Managing Director and VP has been a newly created with an only focus to drive India’s strategy and in this new structure, the senior leader will be reporting into Menlo Park headquarters and not the Asia Pacific. Ajit will be joining Facebook early next year.
