Founded in 1977 by Richard and Robert Greenberg, R/GA came under the ambit of Interpublic Group in 2001 as the holding company had acquired the digital marketing agency’s parent company- True North Communications at the time.
Since its inception, R/GA has been catering to all sorts of marketing services such as digital transformation, experiential marketing, creative services, and web and mobile development.
Having said that, the Interpublic Group is reportedly exploring the sale of its digital marketing, design and creative agency with Tata Consultancy Services now.
As per reports, R/GA is currently valued at about $300 million and its proposed sale is believed to be a part of IPG’s plan to streamline its efforts to adapt to the rapidly changing ad landscape which is increasingly being influenced by AI.
If this deal goes through, TCS will join the likes of other consultancy firms such as Accenture and Deloitte who have expanded their services to include marketing offerings such as digital transformation, experiential marketing, creative services, and web and mobile development.
