How do you feel about a collection from the Museum of Modern Art brought to life through shoes you could wear regularly? Yes, we’re talking about the all-new Reebok x Charles Eames collaboration inspired by the ottoman made by the latter, displayed at the Museum.
These shoes give mid-century furniture vibes! In fact, furniture from this era has for long been an inspiration for various shoe and slipper collaborations by massy brands in the past.
The Rebook x Eames Collaboration
The footwear brand has been long teasing the launch of this collection which is finally live for purchase. It features the classic ‘monotone’ pack in either black or white which is known to be a crisp take on the Club C. It also shows how Charles and Ray Eames were always committed to an accessible form of design.
For those looking for a rather playful version of this new collaboration, a ‘Ray Eames Signature’ pack is also up for grabs. It features the ‘Dot Pattern’ which was long kept in the husband and wife duo’s archives until released to the public in 1999 as prints for cushion covers and blinds. Reebok is now bringing this design with brand new creativity along with one of Ray Eames’ 1939 paintings called ‘Composition’.
Each Reebok shoe available from this collection is available in a unique box modelled after the popular Eames House to give it a genuine aesthetic. While some believe this collaboration is strange or quite unexpected, this is not the first time that the world of art has collaborated with the footwear industry to create some ethereal.
Are you looking at owning one or two pairs from this collection this year?
