Google Updates Salad Emoji To Make It Vegan-Friendly, Twitter Reacts

Something to cheer about for vegans as Google has changed its salad emoji and made it egg-free. A Google’s spokesperson Daniel added hundreds of new emoji, and tweaked a number of existing icons, for the latest test version of Google’s Android P software.

“There’s big talk about inclusion and diversity at Google so if you need any evidence of Google is making this priority may I direct your attention to the 🥗 emoji— we’ve removed the egg in Android P beta 2, making this a more inclusive vegan salad,” a tweet of Daniel read with images of previous version and updated version of salad emoji.

This led to the chain of reactions from Twitter users and over 3,000 likes with comments ranging from praise to criticism.
