Google Replaces Android Pay With Its New Wallet App

Google has finally launched its new wallet app for Android users. Google Pay which is the combination of Google Wallet and Android Pay is available to download for users in the US and the UK. It is expected that Android Pay users will be shifted soon to Google Pay in the next update.

Users will be able to access the features of Google Pay with other Google apps such as Chrome, Play Store and even Google Assistant. Google is planning big things with this new wallet app as users will be able to use this on most of the shopping platforms online and the information of cards will be stored in Google Pay making it easier and quicker to access payment.

Many additional features such as gift cards and other rewards to the users will be provided under the Cards tab in this app. Also, the availability of history of recent purchases will help users to keep a track of their spending habits. Pali Bhat, the Google’s VP of Product Management for Payments talked about this new app and he told Google always wanted to make the process of buying products both online and offline faster, and Google Pay is a crucial step towards this.

What about the security of using Google Pay?

Talking about the security of this app, Google has made an additional layer by disabling the sharing of actual card numbers while making payments. Currently, Google has a separate payment app called Tez for the users in India.
