Creative Marketing: Now Follow Aamir Khan’s Character On Google Maps To Reach Your Destination

Marketing is an important term when we talk about the success of a movie. Ignoring this can lead to perfectly scripted and shooted film into a flop movie and no movie maker wants that. The audience has become very smart and you just can’t sell a movie with a poster nowadays. Marketers know this fact and they are coming with some fresh ideas to engage the audience during the promotion days.

Yashraj banner has partnered with Google for the promotion of ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ which is about to release on November 8 all across India. With a very interesting way of promoting the movie, Aamir Khan’s character from the film will navigate with you, wherever you go.

If you search your destination on Google maps and click on Directions, you get to see a image of Aamir Khan’s character “Firangi Mallah”.  After clicking it, a message will be displayed saying Go with Aamir Khan from Thugs of Hindostan. Navigate with the thug to celebrate the film.

Firangi’s catchy dialogues from the movie have also incorporated and are being loved by audiences.

Talking about the association, Neha Waikar, Product Manager, Google Maps said: “We are truly excited to bring a first-time India-specific entertainment experience to Google Maps in India. As people gear up for Diwali and to watch Thugs of Hindostan, we wanted to do our bit by making their driving journeys more fun and playful. We wish the movie every success,”

“As YRF, we are on the journey to create many firsts with Thugs of Hindostan. It’s not only the biggest Bollywood movie produced till date but also for the first time ever brings together two legends of Indian Cinema, Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Mr Aamir Khan,” said Manan Mehta, Vice President – Marketing and Merchandising, Yash Raj Films.

Looks like it is the first time a Movie production house has associated Google maps for advertising. Innovative & engaging indeed!
