On December 13, from 10 am to 2 pm, Senior Shiv Sena leader Sada Sarvankar’s Samadhan Sarvankar will be organizing a blood donation camp at the Rajabhau Salvi Ground in New Prabhadevi in partnership with the Lower Parel-based KEM hospital. Volunteers need to register before December 11 at the Shiv Sena Shakha 194, near Saamana Press.

Contracter Samadhan Sarvankar shared the news of the drive on his Twitter account urging people to register and make the nobel donation.

As reported by News18, the corportaer has said, “The idea of distributing chicken and paneer struck me when I read on the World Health Organisation’s website that poultry and dairy products are a good source of protein and vitamins, besides being immunity boosters. Since it’s a pandemic era. So I decided to give all blood donors chicken or paneer as per whether they are vegetarian.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also recently urged citizens of Maharashtra to donate blood voluntarily due to the concerns of depleted blood supply in hospitals. In a statement, Thackeray had said that blood collection has been hampered due to the work from the home policy implemented by a number of corporate houses that used to collect blood in large volumes before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim of this drive is to collect 1,000 units of blood and over 300 donors have already registered.
