Anand Mahindra has always been vocal about the socio-economic issues that are prevailing in the country. The industrialist has at times gone out of the way to empower the talented in the best way possible.
Mahindra is known to be very active and expressive through his social media handles. Whether it is helping Tamil Nadu’s ‘Idli Amma’ set up a working kitchen to gifting a tractor to a Bihar man who carved a 3 km-long canal over a period of 30 years, Mahindra’s deeds of kindness comes in a huge number.
Since the pandemic has hit the nation, Anand Mahindra has taken a point to ensure that people understand its impacts not just medically but on a country as a whole. He even spoke about the psychological impacts the work from home culture has had on people and how corporates could make it easier on their employees.
Mahindra has recently taken up Twitter to highlight yet another extremely important issue.
The industrialist recently tweeted that we need to prioritize and focus on opening up schools. He urged the state and central govt to get the school staff vaccinated on priority and emphasized that how critical has the shutdown of schools for such a long period has been and how it can hamper the country’s future.
This is now critical. We need to focus on getting all schools reopened. ALL staff to get vaccinated on priority to facilitate this Reopening. Very simply, the country’s future is at stake… @narendramodi @dpradhanbjp https://t.co/41RMpkD6MF

Anand Mahindra had retweeted a post by A.T.E. Chandra Foundation that highlighted the issue in depth.
Supporting Mahindra’s statement, Wipro’s chairman Rishad Premji said that the damage of schools staying closed is worse than of them opening up. He also mentioned how we as a country need to learn from other countries on tackling this issue successfully.
We absolutely must open schools. The damage of them staying closed is now worse then schools opening. Lots of lessons to take from other countries that have done this successfully. https://t.co/Qc5Xer7xzR

While many parents and teachers are skeptical about opening up schools anytime soon (rightfully so), it does have a huge impact on children’s growth and development. In the end, it will be upon the central and state governments to make the right decision.
