| Published on July 17, 2019

Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra who is an avid Twitter user recently impressed everyone when he vowed to “banish” plastic bottles from his boardroom.

The decision came when a Twitter user pointed out the plastic bottles in a picture of a boardroom meeting shared by Mahindra on the social media platform.

“The incredible intelligence and self-belief displayed by these youngsters is staggering. All concerns about the future are shoved aside by the optimism these young people inspire,” read the tweet where Mahindra also posted pictures from his recently held KC Mahindra Education Trust (KCMET) scholarship selection board meeting.

To which the observant twitter user pointed out and tweeted,”I think the boardroom should have steel bottle instead of Plastic bottle…Just an observation sir.”

Taking the advice seriously, Mahindra replied to the post, promising to banish plastic bottles. “Yes, plastic bottles will be banished. We were all embarrassed to see them that day,” read the tweet.

This is how fellow Twitter users reacted:

“Plastic Pollution” is a global issue having serious effects on the water bodies, nature and sea life. With many companies around the world fighting for this issue, it indeed feels great to see Anand Mahindra doing his bit.
