National Carrier Air India does it all over again as it makes headlines for all possible wrong reasons. Where only a few days back a female pilot had filed a complaint against her colleague and commander for sexual harassment, recently the internet blew up with the news of an AI pilot getting into a fight with his crew during a flight.
The incident took place on the 17th June when the AI pilot after finishing his lunch asked his crew to wash the tiffin box for him to which the crew refused saying it was not a part of their job role. Soon a heated argument broke out causing unnecessary delay of the flight and inconvenience to the passengers.
While the pilot and the crew were immediately taken off the flight and summoned to the Air India headquarters in New Delhi, a detailed inquiry has been launched into this issue until which both the Air India members have been grounded as an initial penalty.
The incident has also been reported to the aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Air India chairman Ashwani Lohani expressed his annoyance over the incident and said, “This nonsense has to stop and will stop.”
If reports are to be believed Air India is now mulling a ban on pilots bringing their own food onboard an aircraft.
