Hungover and a working day surely don’t go hand in hand!
Germany which is one of the largest consumers of beer and has an annual intake of about 101.2 liters yearly declared hangover as an illness. The declaration came out soon after the country’s annual bees festival – Oktoberfest which is celebrated in Munich.
Declaring hangovers as an illness a German Court also made it illegal to sell hangover-cures and stated that any sort of food or drink supplement that helps in treating hangovers is advertising falsely.
The superior regional court said, “Information about a food product cannot ascribe any properties for preventing, treating or healing a human illness or give the impression of such a property,”
Acknowledging hangover as an illness, Germans can now call in sick at work and spend the day recuperating after a night of partying and drinking.
And aren’t we all jealous? Guess we’ve found our dream place.
