We all know that speaking about menstrual pain is still a taboo in India but you will be surprised to know that the first time when a real-life sanitary pad was shown in a brand advert was in the year 2016.
Bodyform has extended this by making an advertisement which is showing the real period blood for the first time in the history of marketing. Below is the complete video of the advertisement.
The ad shows a man buying sanitary towels for a woman in his life, and a woman is also shown who is relaxing in a pool. The video ends with the tagline: “Periods are normal. Showing them should be too.”
Bodyform has always believed in the fact that periods shouldn’t be something women or men feel shy away to talk about and it should be treated normally as a part of life. For creating this awareness about periods they have used the #bloodnormal campaign which is getting famous very quickly on social media.
The marketing manager of Bodyform has explained about this in an interview “As a leader in feminine hygiene, we want to change this by challenging the taboo and ultimately removing the stigma, making it even easier for anyone to talk about periods, now and in the future.”
