The travel industry is booming right now with people getting aware of the other countries and their cultures. Getting a visa for a country depends on man factors and different countries are assigned different levels in terms of Passport. Henley Passport Index (HPI) is a global ranking of countries acc. to the travel freedom for their citizens. The site provides a ranking of the 199 passports of the world based on the number of countries their holders can travel to visa-free.
The Henley Passport Index 2019 list is out with Indian passport on the 86th position with a score of 58. The score defines that Indian passport holders can travel 58 countries around the world without a prior visa. India is sharing the 86th position with Mauritiana and Sao Tome and Principe. India’s rank has improved 7 places from 79th in January 2019.
Asian countries are dominating this year’s list with Japan and Singapore on the top spot having a score of 189 defeating Germany from its first position in 2018. South Korea is at 2nd place on the ranking table along with Finland and Germany, having access 187 destinations around the world without a prior visa.
Denmark, Italy, and Luxembourg are sharing 3rd rank. France is at 4th spot sharing the position with Spain and Sweden. UK and the US now share 6th place with a score of 183.
