The Sexual Meaning Behind McDonald’s Logo- It’s All To Do With The Breasts!

By this time after you have read the heading of the article, your curiosity must have grown nine times nine! What might have come to your mind while you have witnessed those giant golden arches of McDonald’s?

You must have thought it to be a giant french fry being folded up or else simply a giant M that is quite logical as must be due to McDonald’s name. But it actually represents Breasts.

Who would have thought that?

Previously an arrow was also used that proved to watch the logo upside down and it would represent a pair of breasts!

The Story Behind

In the 1960s, McDonald’s hired design consultant and psychologist Louis Cheskin to come up with a new logo. Later in the book Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal, author Eric Schlosser wrote that Cheskin actually pushed the founders to make the famous logo keeping the breasts in mind.

“Freudian applications to the subconscious mind of the consumer” was the main idea behind such concept. The idea of linking customers sub conscious mind to attract the customers for a happy meal was beyond any expectation.

The Other Meaning

But it has some other meaning too! The red background along with the huge boob shaped arcs actually was made to recall people the food that nurtured them first – indeed something to do with your mother and first baby food!

It’s just not done like that. It’s all a matter of psychology and game of seduction might be. The market analysts feel that this has been done to play with the minds of customers; at least psychology says that. “Give mom a night off”, was an early advertising slogan too for them.

It’s almost 57 years that McDonald’s is embracing this logo and no doubt it is one of the most famous and striking logos ever witnessed. At an age where people recognize brands with their unique logos and taglines, McDonald’s surely has won half of the game long back.

Still, don’t know whether it is the boob shaped logo or the burgers and fires that attract the customers but definitely can say ‘What a marketing mind!’
