Festival Marketing holds big importance for marketers. Although Valentine’s Day is not a festival in the traditional sense in India, it is an event that attracts a lot of attention for brands to promote their products and services. In this age of smartphones, Indian brands are trying to stay interactive to make a place in the heart of customers

While we’re all set up to celebrate Valentine’s Day with our loved ones, here are some of the best social media campaigns by brands on social media platforms in the previous years. Have a look:

1. Flipkart Gif Delivery

Flipkart built a microsite housing 50 gifs for different kinds of love in which audience can choose any and send it to the person it reminds them of. There were gifs capturing the little moments of love in our everyday lives for everyone – a mother, a single friend, a special someone among man others.

2. Tinder

Tinder made the best of Valentine’s season by partnering with Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT)

3. CloseUp- #BreakTheBarriers

This one was the first time when CloseUp spoke about the LGBT community in India. The campaign wanted to break the stereotypes in India.

4. OYO

OYO showed the importance of making room for peace, understanding, tolerance, happiness, togetherness, expression, progressive thinking, privacy, positivity, love and not hate.

5. Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk #SayItWithSilk


With this campaign, Cadbury enabled couples to express their love to each other and launched some limited edition personalized chocolate bars.

6. Durex #50Games to Play

Durex being a condom brand, encouraged couples to have something sexy on Valentine’s Day. Also, the company launched a condom to help couples be more in-sync during romance. The ad smartly used the popularity of 50 Shades of Grey’s release.

7. TrulyMadly #UnSingle

TrulyMadly associated with Starbucks to manage a Valentine date for couples. Taling the ‘#unsingle’ campaign further, they shared some witty visuals on social media.

8. Reliance Jio

When Reliance Jio wished Happy Valentine’s Day to warring rivals Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular on Twitter.
