AI is taking over the brand marketing space like anything. We have been coming across with news of giants like Google and Amazon using AI and chatbots effectively and now Bombay Stock Exchange has launched our very own Indian quirky chatbot, calling it ‘Ask MotaBhai’. ‘MotaBhai’ is basically a Gujarati word to address big brother, someone who is respected and dependable. BSE has used this name to easily connect with people at an emotional level and give them a more personalized feeling. It should prove to be a good marketing strategy for them.

What Would the ChatBot Do?
The chatbot has been built in partnership with Microsoft and Shephertz, the BSE said in a statement. This will make the user interface easier and faster, wherein people would be able to get stock and market information from the chatbot. BSE is also looking at addressing market-related queries on mutual funds, derivatives, and initial public offerings, through the system, going forward. ‘Ask MotaBhai’ is a text-based chat bot for the time being, but a unique identity has been given to the chatbot, Gujarati male caricature dressed in a pagdi, it has been given a human-like feel to it.
The Company’s Thought
“BSE has always been at the forefront in the adoption of technology-based advancements, and launch of the chatbot marks yet another significant initiative in BSE’s endeavor to add to the seamless customer experience. With the chatbot in place we would be able to serve our audience better and help them with quick information without having to go through any other channel,” its MD and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan said.
With more than 5000 companies listed on the BSE’s site with their stock information, the ‘MotaBhai’ would have a lot on its plate and will surely make the user experience a seamless one right on the homepage itself.
