FCB Kinnect & Flipkart Spotlight Small Essentials In A Big Way With 'Big Sale Of Small Things' Campaign

As our minds get preoccupied with the bigger things in life, it’s natural to forget the small things that might not seem significant in comparison. For this, Flipkart, the Bengaluru-based e-commerce giant, is set to launch ‘Big Sale of Small Things’, to celebrate the items that people often forget to purchase, when they are gearing up to shop at the Big Billion Days (BBD) Sale.

Conceptualised by FCB Kinnect, the integrated campaign comprises films, influencer engagements, and other on-ground activations. The campaign is designed specifically to bring to mind the easily overlooked items, including fashion and lifestyle accessories, books, small electronics, home décor, and more.

Simply put, small things have big discounts on Flipkart’s ‘Big Sale of Small Things’. True to the distinctive tone of bizarre humour, this campaign has the internet in splits. In the ad, a girl in western clothes is teased on her college’s traditional day. She improvises by flipping another student dressed in a green suit to create an illusion of wearing a lehenga. The quirky scene is tied to Flipkart’s message that small things like lehengas, sarees, and other lifestyle items can easily be found during their sale. The campaign uses bizarre humor to effectively emphasise these often-overlooked items.

Speaking on the integrated campaign, Neville Shah, CCO, FCB Kinnect, said, “We’ve always said, the idea comes first. And that’s what has won here. A simple thought that makes you think. What do we do when we need small things? Making that funny was a whole other story. But so much fun working on these with the team. Truly gratifying.”

Rohan Mehta, CEO, FCB Kinnect and FCB/SIX India, added, “Being a fully integrated agency is what we set out to be – and this, our first campaign for Flipkart goes to show what we can do when we leverage all our offerings to service the idea best. A perfect example of how creativity can be an economic multiplier.”

But apart from this campaign, Flipkart Minutes had most recently made news headlines for one of the brand’s delivery boys had delivered the newly launched and much anticipated Apple iPhone 16 to one of the consumers on the launch date itself and that too within 15 minutes!

The news came to light when a Twitterati shared his grudging experience of waiting patiently in line when someone in the back of the queue got the iPhone before him via Flipkart Minutes, making several eyeballs turn and praise the platform for its efficiency. This was just one of the instance where Flipkart Minutes stood strong with its name, literally. Earlier on, in August, the service had made headlines for successfully delivering a laptop to a software developer who was at a Bengaluru Starbucks in merely 13 minutes .
