The holding company which is a home to some of the most widely known beauty brands across the globe including Simple, Sunsilk, Dove, Tresemme, Pond’s, Clear, Shea Moisture and more, Unilever, has entrusted Ad Network- WPP with its global creative and strategic duties.
This development comes in the aftermath of WPP’s leading creative agency- Ogilvy already managing some of Unilever’s major brands- Dove and Vaseline.
According to reports, with this consolidation in place, WPP will steer the creative responsibilities for Tresemme, Sunsilk, Simple, Nexxus, Shea Moisture, Clear, and Pond’s, not just in the US but globally.
The move comes at a time when Unilever has called a global media review where the standing of incumbent agency- WPP’s GroupM is believed to be at risk.
In the past, other ad networks such as Interpublic Group of Companies, Omnicom Group and Brandtech Group’s Oliver have also handled creative duties of the aforementioned brands in all or small parts of the world.
